Let’s Dance
Foundations
Foundations is an early introduction to the basics of Jazz and Ballet. Students will focus on flexibility, coordination, musicality and strength. As well as developing discipline, learning teamwork skills, building self-confidence, and creativity, which will ultimately set them up for their dance journey.
Ballet
Students will develop skills in proper body alignment, awareness and muscle use. Dancers will focus on balance, coordination and poise through traditional ballet technique. The ballet program will assist dancers to understand the value of technique and discipline while honoring tradition.
Jazz
Jazz is a stylized form of dance that combines energetic movements with fundamental technique. Students will participate in a warm-up, conditioning, across the room movements and choreography.
Tap
Tap is a fun way for dancers to develop rhythm, timing, musicality and co-ordination. Students will progress from learning basic rhythms and footwork to developing more stylized, demanding footwork. Students love this popular form of dance where their feet get to do the talking!
Acro
Acro Dance is an art form that incorporates the fluid movements of dance with the exciting tricks from acrobatics. It is “gymnastics for dancers”, where students develop specific strength, flexibility and technique, to learn how to execute acrobatic tricks, to then be used in dance choreography.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is an energetic and funky street-style dance. It incorporates isolations, coordination and musicality. Hip Hop classes teach strength, quickness, agility, endurance, rhythm and musical interpretation. Most importantly, Hip Hop is a fantastic form of exercise!
Musical Theatre
This creative style combines styles such as jazz dance with acting and mime. In Musical Theatre class, students will learn how to act out iconic scenes from different Broadway musicals, and dance to their most famous songs.
Lyrical
Lyrical is a dynamic style of dance combining the movements of jazz with the technique of ballet. Dancers will learn to interpret the meaning behind the lyrics in a song. This emotional style of dance concentrates on an individual approach and expressiveness of such emotions as love, joy, hurt, or anger
